Step into the 1800s at Pioneer Days! Spend a fall weekend exploring 70+ historic cabins with hands-on demos like corn shelling, butter churning, quilting, rope making, and hearth baking. Meet costumed interpreters, hear period music, and try kid-friendly hands-on stations – brought to students by our everyday volunteers, and others to make this an exceptional, experiential special event - from grinding corn to the print shop. Stroll forested trails and visit the Visitor's Center for unique gifts, treats and souvenirs. Bring the whole family for living history on Grand Lake.
Hours are 9 am to 3:30 pm all three days.

Serves different kinds of tamale flavors with refried beans and rice.

Skoden49 Food Truck
Serves Native American foods and Indian Tacos.
She will be here Friday and Saturday, 9-3.
The Heritage Craftspeople featured each year vary, but in the past have included people who perform blacksmithing, tinsmithing, weaving and spinning, basket weaving, lace making, using a printing press, sewing, broom making, etc.
Demonstrations during this annual event vary, but may include laundry, churning butter, hearth cooking, making sausage, old-fashioned games, gardening, making dyes, and other daily tasks.
Activities are provided at stations around the museum to enhance visitor experiences and understanding of pioneer life. Activities vary—visitors may be able to weave on a loom, spin wool on a wheel, churn butter, grind corn or coffee, dip candles, create old-fashioned toys, and more.
Period music adds another dimension to Pioneer Day, and over the years has been performed by a variety of very talented musicians. Thank you all for helping to make our event special!
Occasionally vendors will be invited to display and sell products that relate to the pioneer theme. Often, the heritage craftspeople will sell their wares or contract for a project during the day.
